Homemade Applesauce

You're going to love me.

Why? I'll get straight to the point.

This is delicious. This has three ingredients. This has no sugar. This is the best pork topping/pancake compote/muffin making/cupcake frosting/snack you've ever had.

Done. Now you love me.

Homemade applesauce is just the way to go. Why? Because eating real food means you know EXACTLY what's in your food. It's just the hard truth that we can't always trust labels.. even ones that say "all-natural" or "organic." There are too many loopholes (including the fact that food companies ARE NOT REQUIRED to include every ingredient in the product. If there is an ingredient that is made from other processed substances, companies do not have to put those substances on the label. That is why even ingredient labels that do not specifically include a wheat protein, for example, might still have it in the soy sauce or a thickening agent they are using).

Maintaining a healthy gut, a steady blood sugar level, and a strong immune system requires returning to traditional methods of cooking and preparing your own food. This removes the harmful effects on our bodies caused by processed sugars and fats. Processed carbohydrates feed opportunistic bacteria and fungi, creating toxins which spread all around our body, including our brains.

With a healthy gut flora and the consumption of whole sources of carbohydrates, sugars are processed and digested by the body at a nice, steady rate--as opposed to the frighteningly fast way that processed carbohydrates get absorbed into the blood stream and spike blood glucose levels. Healthy digestive systems can break down fruit sugars without spiking blood sugar or feeding opportunistic bacteria.

Do you get the picture? When taking care of your body, homemade is the way to go.

So are you ready for some easy, delicious homemade applesauce??
